Blue Group D1 B1

On day one of going to Mt. Cardigan, we got off the bus and were instantly greeted by the AMC volunteers. We got in a big circle, and introduced ourselves to the volunteers. Then we played a game of Mtn baseball, and got into our groups for the three days. After that we got into our groups and sketched either the AMC lodge or the Solar panels. Then we turned on the GPS and started our Hike to welton falls. The first stop we made was at an old abandoned cellar hole. We marked the waypoint and took some sketches, and got back on the trail. Then we stopped at a crazy tree that was half Oak? And Hemlock?

Finally we made it to Welton Falls and ate lunch there. I had a turkey sandwich, pickles and veggie sticks that day. Then we took a sketch of Welton Falls, and got back on the trail. The next and final stop we made was Sketching/eating/and observing the wild cucumber, which is a root of the plant that looks like ginger, but tastes like a sweet carrot. Then we went back to the AMC lodge, and got back on the bus for the ride home. On the way home we thought about the theme of Geography! would be for today.

Todays theme of Geography! was Movement, because we met a lot of AMC guides from different places, and rode the bus to Mt Cardigan AMC, from Hopkinton Middle High School. We also saw a few old cellar holes, whichs shows that people once lived there. Finally we saw many streams, which will eventually flow into the Atlantic Ocean. All four of these examples represent the theme of Movement.
